10/10/10

What a cool day of the year! Plus- it's my favorite number!
So, to "celebrate" I'll tell you a couple groupings of 10.

10 things you may or may not know about me:
1. Growing up, I thought I was going to marry "Walker, Texas Ranger". I know, weird. There were all the popular people of the time, the backstreet boys, and NSync, and JTT, but no- i watched and taped so I could rewatch every episode of walker, texas ranger.
2. Matthew and I have a battle every day to see who could say I love you mostest first. On  Jan 1, 2008 I thought I was so smart by telling him I loved him mostest for the year. He then told me he loved me mostest for eternity. We still play, but it's true, he has won.
3. I say some words "weird". Matthew reminds me of this often.. One of those words is "mine". I think I say it right, but he says I say it like the "Mayan civilization"
4. If I could go back to school, I'd go to be an interior designer. It'd be so fun to design people's houses all day.
5. I don't really like taking showers, but once I actually get in, I never want to get out. I think it's that I subconsciously know I'll be cold once I get out.
6. I love the video game Civilization. I don't play nearly as often as I think about it.
7. While I never want to start cleaning, once I do, it's kind of addicting. I like to turn on my music and just get everything done. It's a refreshing feeling to sit down afterwards and know that everything is where it should be.
8. I love the Harry Potter series. I never wanted to have anything to do with Harry Potter when I was in high school. My best friends loved it and watched the movies and stayed up late for the releasings but I never cared. Matthew convinced me to start the first book a few summers ago. I reluctantly agreed and haven't put them down since. I love the books, the movies, the video games, the books about the books. I'm really sad that the end is near.
9. I use to HATE putting up decorations. My dad would usually have a special night for every holiday where we decorated. I didn't like hanging lights, doing the tree, etc. Now,  I hate that I don't decorate for every holiday, and every season, and just for whatever. I make my own decorations, I convince Matthew to let me buy decorations. I hope my kids aren't like that. I love it!
10. My life is truly wonderful. I have the most wonderful husband who is my very very best friend. We're having a little boy in December and I'm so excited to meet him. I can't imagine what my life would be like without my litle family, my best friends, and the wonderful blessings I have in my life.

10 things I learned this year:
1. I have the greatest family I could ever ask for.
2. 8 year olds are exhausting. But, I still love teaching them.
3. Everything works out according to plan.
4. Sometimes, we don't think that's how life is going but in the end, it's right.
5. I knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true before this year, but I have had countless experiences this year that have reminded me of that.
6. We don't get everything we want. sometimes, it's just a candy car.. sometimes, it's a job, a house, or something else bigger.
7. The DC area is not as cool of a place to live as it is a place to visit.
8. I miss my family tremendously. I miss those in PA, CA, IL, and everywhere in between. I wish I had more money to spend to visit them more often.
9. I never thought that I could live with and never want to be without one person in my life. I never thought that I could fall in love all over again every single day, day after day. Again, I also knew this before this year, but I sure love being reminded each morning.
10. I enjoy working. and I don't miss school. Learning was cool, but tests, doing things that are required without getting a paycheck- not cool. Work is busy and stressful sometimes, but I'm glad I do something I enjoy.
